# The Paradise actor Remo Raheem backs Nani film after his truck scene is cut

Nani's The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, arrived in theatres on Thursday and has given the actor the biggest opening of his career, even as audiences and critics remain divided over it. In the middle of that debate, supporting actor Remo Raheem has opened up about losing most of his big scene, while still standing firmly behind the film.

Remo shared a video on Instagram with a short clip of himself sparring with Nani. He said his truck sequence was originally five to seven minutes long but had to be trimmed because of the film's length, and admitted he had been feeling bad about it. In his caption, he wrote about the hard work that goes into acting and the deep mental anguish an actor feels when a scene they poured their heart and soul into is cut during editing.

He was quick to move past his own disappointment. Remo asked fans whether they had watched the film and liked it, and urged them to see it for its strong theme of motherly sentiment. "If you keep looking for logic, no film will satisfy you," he said, asking viewers to watch a movie as a movie. "Don't kill cinema, support it," he added, insisting it is far from a bad film and one families can enjoy together.

The early numbers are on his side. The Paradise collected Rs 76.90 crore gross worldwide on its opening day, beating the starts of Nani's earlier films Dasara, HIT: The Third Case and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. In the Telugu states, reports say it earned a distributor share of around Rs 26 crore, with Nizam alone contributing Rs 13.3 crore.

Overseas, the film is off to a flying start. US premieres alone brought in about $1.42 million, and the premieres plus day one total reportedly stands near $1.63 million. That is said to be the second best such figure for a Telugu film in the US this year, behind Ram Charan's Peddi. Its total overseas haul is reported at $2.3 million.

The Paradise marks Nani's second film with Odela after Dasara. Nani plays Jadal, with Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni, Kayadu Lohar and Raghav Juyal in key roles. Sudhakar Cherukuri has produced the film under SLV Cinemas.
