> Sundeep Kishan has reportedly voiced disappointment over Sigma's small release in Hyderabad, where a crowded weekend slate has left the Jason Sanjay directorial short of screens before its October 2 opening.

Sundeep Kishan's Sigma opens in theatres on October 2, but the actor is not fully happy with how it is being released. Ahead of the big day, he reportedly took to social media to share his disappointment over the number of screens the film has in Hyderabad. By screen count, he called it his smallest release in a decade.

A packed release calendar looks like the main problem. Reports say more than half a dozen films open on the same day, which leaves Sigma struggling to get strong showcasing in the city. If audiences like the film, it could still pick up more shows over the coming days.

Sigma is the first film directed by Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Lyca Productions has produced it, with Subaskaran backing the project under the banner. Thaman has composed the music, and his songs and background score run through the film's heist and action portions.

The team has reportedly locked a runtime of 2 hours and 24 minutes. Early inside talk is said to be positive, and describes Sigma as a slick action entertainer with a fun and breezy tone. Sundeep's comic timing, emotional moments and action scenes are being called the highlights, and Jason Sanjay's handling and visual style as a first time director have also reportedly drawn praise.

Faria Abdullah plays the female lead. Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Pandit, Anbu Thasan and Yog Japee play important roles. In the Telugu states, Mythri Distributions and NV Pictures are reportedly releasing the film in more than 400 theatres, so all eyes will be on how it performs once the first shows begin.
