Puri Jagannadh's upcoming action entertainer Slumdog 33 Temple Road has brought another key character into the spotlight. The makers have revealed veteran actress Zarina Wahab as Zubeidaa, first through a poster and then with a short character glimpse that puts her painful story at the centre.

Reports say the glimpse arrived on Puri's birthday and shows Zubeidaa recalling how hunger drove her to begging. Zarina Wahab brings real weight to that pain, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar's score deepens the emotion of the video. While sharing the poster on social media, Puri described the character as someone with a loving heart who has lived a life of struggle.

Zubeidaa comes after the makers introduced Tabu's role. According to reports, Tabu plays Gauri Hegde, a Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, and her earlier glimpse showed her as a fearless officer who does not hold back. Vijay Sethupathi reportedly plays the lead, with Samyuktha cast as the female lead opposite him.

The cast also includes Duniya Vijay, Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh in important roles. Puri Jagannadh is producing the film along with Charmme Kaur and JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla. The project is reportedly made under the Puri Connects banner together with JB Motion Pictures, with Charmme Kaur presenting it.

On the production side, reports say shooting is complete and post-production is moving quickly on all language versions. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, a National Award winner known for his work on Arjun Reddy and Animal, is composing the music.
