# Sigma: Jason Sanjay kept his script from Vijay, Faria Abdullah hails his merit

> Ahead of Sigma's October 2 release, Jason Sanjay says he kept the full script from his father Vijay, while lead actress Faria Abdullah says the debutant director wanted the film to succeed on his own merit.

Jason Sanjay, son of actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, makes his directorial debut with Sigma, which releases on October 2. Sundeep Kishan headlines the action-adventure comedy, and Faria Abdullah plays the female lead. Subaskaran is backing the project under the Lyca Productions banner.

In a media interaction ahead of the release, Faria reportedly said that Vijay never came to the sets or even called his son during the shoot. According to her, Jason wanted Sigma to stand only on his own merit and is firm about not being influenced by his father. She was also struck by his screen presence at the audio launch, and went as far as saying he could become a CM one day.

Faria reportedly praised the way Jason handled the cast and crew at such a young age, calling it inspiring. She added that after a while, audiences will forget that he is a star kid.

Jason himself has reportedly revealed that he did not share the full script with his father, or with his grandfather, veteran filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar. He gave the family only an outline, keeping the details back so they could watch the film from a fresh point of view.

The young director was open about being seen as the CM's son first. "I think about it all the time. I can't deny that," he reportedly said. Still, he believes viewers will be won over quickly, saying that a few minutes in, people will simply watch it as a film and his work will speak for him, whatever the criticism. He sees Sigma as a starting point for building his own identity and career.

Raju Sundaram, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee and Sampath Raj are part of the supporting cast, while Thaman composes the music. Reports say the film was first set for July 31 but was pushed back to avoid clashing with Jana Nayagan, Vijay's final film.
