Reports suggest that [NTR](https://clapnumber.com/celebrity/jr-ntr) and [Ram Charan](https://clapnumber.com/celebrity/ram-charan-konidela), two of the top Telugu film stars, are leading the race to bag the main lead in the upcoming Hindi epic film, [The Immortal Ashwatthama](https://clapnumber.com/movies/hindi/the-immortal-ashwatthama). However, neither actor has officially signed on for the project yet.

Now, it seems that there is a new contender for the lead role, as popular Hindi film superstar [Shah Rukh Khan](https://clapnumber.com/celebrity/shahrukh-khan) has also entered the fray. According to sources, the film's director Aditya Dhar recently met with Khan to discuss the project.

Jio Studios is backing the film with a massive budget, and an official announcement regarding the lead actor is expected in the second half of this year.
