# Sanjay Dutt plays Munna Bhai PM on Shekhar Tonite, says he misses peace in India

> On the Gandhi Jayanti special of Shekhar Tonite, Sanjay Dutt said he no longer feels peace in India, then played Munna Bhai as Prime Minister, joking about leaders' photographs, foreign trips and Donald Trump.

Sanjay Dutt brought back his much loved Munna Bhai avatar for some political satire on Shekhar Suman's show Shekhar Tonite. He appeared on the Gandhi Jayanti special episode, which came out on Friday, and was asked to imagine himself as India's Prime Minister for five minutes. What followed mixed comedy with references to Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump.

Before the comic turn, Dutt spoke seriously about the mood of the country. He called Indians lovely, large-hearted and hospitable people, but said he could no longer feel a sense of peace in India. He added that he prays to Shivji for those days to come back soon.

When he was asked to address the nation, he slipped straight into Munna Bhai's trademark lingo and told his "deshwasiyo" that becoming PM had sent a strange energy through his body. In an indirect dig at PM Modi, he promised not to fly abroad to celebrate. He said he would stay among the people, because that is how a PM stays connected to the public.

He then gave Gandhi's famous three monkeys a twist, saying the country now needs a fourth one who sees something wrong and fixes it. He also joked that he would cut down the number of places showing the PM's photograph and put up Gandhi's picture instead. The country should come first in the frame, he said, and his own photo could wait.

The biggest laughs came when he turned to "Trump mamu". Dutt took a swipe at Trump's tariff policies and said the US President seemed to be pushing the whole world out of the frame. Peace comes from love, he argued, and love comes from Gandhigiri, so Trump needs a lesson in it. His advice was to send a bouquet before a missile and to settle a fight over a cup of chai instead of making threats.

He reportedly closed the segment by promising to travel to America and give Trump a jaadu ki jhappi, one more nod to the Munna Bhai films.
