# Salman Khan on Koffee With Karan 9: no regrets about staying single, kids someday

Salman Khan was the first guest on season 9 of Koffee With Karan. He told host Karan Johar he has no complaints about staying single, and that he still plans to have children.

Karan began with Aamir Khan's third marriage. Salman's reply was short: "I'm happy for him."

The host then went back to an old question and asked whether Salman was "still a virgin". Laughing, the actor said that line had only been his way of not talking about his love life. He explained that people link him to someone, and that person may later marry somebody else. He said he has had that thought since he was 15 or 16.

Part of this comes from his father, Salim Khan. Salman recalled being told that personal matters belong in the bedroom and should never reach the living room, which he said stands for the whole country.

On fatherhood he was clear. "I will have children at some point in time," he said. He added that nobody stopped him from finding a partner, so he cannot blame anyone else for how things turned out.

Fitness came up too. He said staying in shape took hard work and sacrifice. He admitted that fans of his shirtless look deserved better during a phase when injuries took over. He listed a broken head, hernia trouble and a damaged shoulder from Sultan, plus knee and back problems, trigeminal neuralgia and an aneurysm. He said none of it justified letting himself go.

Speaking about Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, he said his generation of stars still wants to get on set and do good work, even when a film does not land.
