> Ranabaali's overseas rights have sold for about $3 million, the biggest deal of Vijay Deverakonda's career, but slow early ticket sales in the US leave the film with a lot of ground to cover.

The overseas rights of Vijay Deverakonda's Ranabaali have sold for about $3 million, the biggest deal any of his films has landed outside India. That price also sets the target. The film now has to earn around the same amount overseas before its buyers break even.

Early bookings in the United States have been slow. With six days left for the premieres, reports say the film has sold 1,891 tickets worth $33,165, a small start against the $2.2 million it needs from North America alone.

To bring more people in from the very first show, the makers and distributors have decided to allow all passes at the premieres. The team is also counting on the film's emotional portions, which the makers believe will connect strongly with audiences.

Rahul Sankrityan directs Ranabaali, and Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead opposite Vijay.
