# Ranabaali makers announce four-part Never Forget docu-series ahead of release

Rahul Sankrityan directs Ranabaali, which is based on a real chapter of history that few people know about. The story is set in Rayalaseema during a famine, when people in the region were crushed under British rule. The film is reportedly built around the Madras Famine of 1876-78, with Vijay playing the title role, a Telugu man who rises up against the British.

Each episode of the series reportedly covers a different theme. The first chapter is said to be called The Famine We Forgot. The History We Forgot reportedly follows on September 30 and asks why the railways were built. The Men We Forgot, about those who would not bow to British rule, is reportedly set for October 2, while a date for the fourth chapter, The Last Load, is still to come.

Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna and Rahul Sankrityan are reportedly set to appear on camera in the series. They will talk about the film, its subject and the research behind it. The team reportedly calls the project the result of two years spent studying 150 years of forgotten history.

Rashmika is reported to play Jayamma, the hero's wife and his partner in the fight. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, famous as Imhotep in The Mummy, reportedly plays Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor. Reports say Mythri Movie Makers is producing the film on a grand scale with music by Ajay-Atul, and that it will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam over the pre-Dussehra weekend.
