# Ramayana faces Godzilla Minus Zero clash as MrBeast event runs hours late

Ramayana: Part 1 is heading towards November with a major overseas rival and a promotional event that did not go to plan. Reports say the Nitesh Tiwari film will open on November 6, 2026, the same day as Takashi Yamazaki's Godzilla Minus Zero. That sets up a rare box office face-off in overseas markets.

Both films are reportedly the first from their countries to be shot and certified under the "Filmed for IMAX" programme. The Japanese monster film had its world premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival and is said to have opened with a 93% critics' score on a leading review aggregator. Critics reportedly praised Yamazaki for keeping the emotional heart of his Oscar-winning earlier film while taking the story into darker ground, with a regenerated Godzilla taking on Ghidorah.

Ramayana is taking a different route. Instead of a festival launch, the film is reportedly going straight to a worldwide theatrical release. Produced by Namit Malhotra and backed by a huge budget and Hollywood visual effects partners, it stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in key roles.

Meanwhile, a Ramayana event at Film City on September 26 featuring YouTube star MrBeast reportedly left many journalists angry. According to reports, the media received several revised invites with changing timings, and the event, promised for 1:30 pm, began only around 5 pm. The delay was reportedly blamed on MrBeast's flight from Bengaluru running late, and several journalists are said to have walked out.

Ranbir Kapoor reportedly told reporters they were free to leave if they wished. One attendee, however, said he did not mean it arrogantly and was irritated himself, having arrived before the media. Sai Pallavi, present since morning, also reportedly made her unhappiness with the delay clear to the team.

The event reportedly wrapped up in about 20 minutes with no major announcement. Ranbir, Namit Malhotra and Ravie Dubey were seen lifting the Shiv Dhanush while MrBeast chanted "Jai Shri Ram". Ravie Dubey was reportedly the only member of the team to apologise for the long wait.
