> Rahul Dravid says Virat Kohli's talent for mimicry and his long run of ad films make him the teammate best suited to acting, while casting director Mukesh Chhabra feels Virat should never leave cricket for cinema.

Former India cricketer and coach Rahul Dravid has named Virat Kohli as the teammate with the best chance of a Bollywood career. In a recent interview he was asked which of his old teammates would make the best film actor. Dravid pointed to Virat's sharp gift for mimicry and his long experience facing the camera for brands.

Abhishek Bachchan was also part of the conversation and noted that several cricketers have already tried acting. Dravid agreed with a laugh. He recalled attempts by Sunil Gavaskar and Syed Kirmani and a single film by Ajay Jadeja, and joked that it was a good thing they stayed with cricket. He ruled out acting for himself, saying he knows his strengths and is "not making a fool of myself."

On Virat, Dravid was full of praise. He remembered Virat arriving in the side as a youngster among a group of seniors, and said his mimicry back then was "absolutely superb", even if he rarely does it now. Pointing to the many ad films Virat has shot, Dravid called him "pretty much a pro at it." The interviewer added that Virat's wife, actor Anushka Sharma, could surely give him a few tips. The couple first met on the set of an ad shoot.

Dravid was also asked to name his favourite Bollywood films about cricket. He picked Ranveer Singh's 83 and Abhishek Bachchan's Ghoomer, and praised Aamir Khan's Lagaan as "a fantastic film."

Dravid is not the first to see a performer in Virat. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra earlier told Ranveer Allahbadia that Virat is "already a great actor", praising his comic timing, his dancing and the way he has handled success. Even so, Chhabra believes Virat should stay away from films, even after he retires, and keep making the country proud on the field.

Virat and Anushka married in Italy in 2018. They are parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay, and have lived in the UK for the past few years.
