# Parineeti Chopra slams trolls who shame new mothers over their bodies

Parineeti Chopra has spoken out strongly against people who comment on women's bodies after they give birth. In a recent interview, the actor called this kind of trolling "illiterate". She asked why the physical changes that come with pregnancy and childbirth are now treated as something to mock.

Parineeti welcomed her son Neer in 2025. She said she looks at her own stretch marks as proof that she made a baby, and that she finds them beautiful. She urged women to live their lives and ignore what she called uneducated people. She also reportedly pointed out that people see abs as a sign of gym work and a tan as a sign of a beach holiday, yet treat the signs of childbirth very differently.

Her comments come after Katrina Kaif was body shamed on social media over her weight after pregnancy. Katrina, who gave birth to a son in November 2025, was seen at the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. Videos from the event drew a wave of comments about how she looked. Several Bollywood stars came out in her support, and Salman Khan also hit back at the trolls on Bigg Boss 20.

Parineeti reportedly also asked why female actors are questioned for taking on messy roles after marriage, when male actors rarely face the same thing. In separate remarks earlier this week, she is reported to have said she spends little time on social media and has no time for strangers who talk about her.

On the work front, Parineeti will next be seen in Shaque: Trust No One, a series set to release on Netflix on September 24. Reports say it marks her web series debut and her first project since becoming a mother. The show reportedly follows a mother's nine-year search for answers after her baby goes missing, with Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Soni Razdan among the cast.
