# Nani's The Paradise crosses Rs 2 crore nett on its Hindi opening day

Nani's The Paradise has sprung a surprise with its Hindi-dubbed version. The action thriller had little buzz and almost no promotion in the Hindi heartland, yet it opened past the Rs 2 crore nett mark on day 1. Estimates for the opening range from Rs 2.15 crore to Rs 2.25 crore nett.

The start looks even better against what was expected. Reports say the Hindi version was tracking for Rs 1 to 1.5 crore nett before release. It reportedly played across 2,632 shows with an average occupancy of around 24% through the day. According to reports, it did this without a release in the big national multiplex chains, PVR, Inox and Cinepolis.

The figure is being called Nani's best opening ever in Hindi. Reports say it comfortably beats Dasara, which opened at Rs 53 lakh, followed by HIT: The Third Chapter at Rs 25 lakh and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram at Rs 7 lakh. For comparison, Ram Charan's Peddi and Prabhas' The Raja Saab reportedly earned Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 5.2 crore nett in Hindi, and both of those had multiplex chain releases.

Odisha, a strong market for dubbed films, reportedly brought in over Rs 30 lakh nett, while Uttar Pradesh also added solid numbers. Nani's goodwill is seen as the main reason for the start. Films like Eega, Jersey and Hi Nanna have built him a following among Hindi audiences, much of it through digital platforms. The popularity of the Aaya Sher song is also said to have helped.

Whether the run can hold is another matter. Word of mouth is reportedly negative, and the extended weekend is expected to stay low.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena under the Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment banners. Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal play key roles. With a reported budget of Rs 200 crore, it is Nani's most expensive film yet.
