> Nani says he watched The Paradise before release and knew which parts would land and which would not, as the Srikanth Odela film draws mixed reactions while the makers put its worldwide gross past ₹180 crore.

Nani says he knew where The Paradise would stumble long before audiences told him. In a recent interview about the mixed response to the Srikanth Odela directorial, the actor said he watched the film ahead of its release and could sense which stretches would hold and which would sag.

He expected the interval block, the background score and the childhood portions to land. The complaints viewers have raised since, including the places where the film dips, were things he had already felt on that first viewing, Nani said. He added that he can step back from his own work and watch it the way a viewer would, and that getting carried away by it is simply not something he knows how to do.

He credits this to the people around him. Nani, who does not come from a film family, said his friends and family give him blunt opinions with no filter, even about some of his biggest hits. He has always watched movies in theatres, he said, and sees himself as part of the audience rather than apart from it.

The divided reviews have not hurt the box office. The makers say the film has crossed ₹180 crore worldwide. Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, with Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal in key roles.

Reports say Netflix holds the digital rights and could start streaming the film on October 23, but neither the platform nor the producers have confirmed a date.
