> Veteran actor Nana Patekar died after a cardiac arrest at his Goa home on Thursday morning, aged 75. Jr NTR, Akshay Kumar, Prakash Raj and many others in Indian cinema paid tribute.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar died on Thursday morning after a cardiac arrest at his home in Dona Paula, Goa. He was 75.

He was found unconscious at the house and taken to a private hospital. Doctors declared him dead at 5.20 am. He had worked in Hindi and Marathi films for nearly five decades.

Jr NTR led the tributes from one report. He called Patekar one of Indian cinema's finest actors and said his performances "never felt like acting, but life unfolding on screen." Sai Kumar sent his sympathy to the family. Prakash Raj wrote that he would always remember their talks, their arguments and "the food you cooked."

Akshay Kumar posted on X that Patekar "never needed to do too much to make you sit up and watch." The two first acted together in the 2007 comedy Welcome, where Patekar played the don Uday Shetty. They worked together again in Housefull 5 in 2025. "It's hard to believe you're gone," Akshay wrote.

Riteish Deshmukh called the death the end of an era. He said acting with Patekar in a Marathi film would stay a wish he never got to fulfil. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma called him the "GOD of acting". R Madhavan remembered how moved he felt after watching Prahaar. Kangana Ranaut said the news hit harder because Patekar looked so fit and healthy.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Patekar gave Marathi and Hindi cinema a whole era, from Krantiveer to Natsamrat. He also remembered the actor's work with the Naam Foundation for farmers and drought-hit families.
