> Director Mysskin says he has let go of his long-delayed films Pisasu 2 and Train after a dream helped him accept their fate, and is now writing new stories, including one for Mammootty.

Filmmaker and actor Mysskin says he has made peace with the uncertain fate of his two completed but unreleased films, Pisasu 2 and Train. In a recent YouTube interview, the director admitted that the long wait has hurt him. He said he has now chosen to look ahead and put his energy into fresh scripts.

Mysskin has not had a release as a director since Psycho in 2020. He likened filmmaking to a battlefield, where a director has to manage huge egos both on the sets and away from them. He also said that chasing too much creative ambition can work against you, a lesson he says he learnt the hard way.

The turning point, he explained, came in a dream. In it, an enormous elephant carried two lifeless infants and left them beside the well at his home, and he brought out fruit and water for them. When he asked ChatGPT what the dream meant, it suggested he had two departed relatives on his mind. Mysskin saw it differently. To him, the two babies stood for Pisasu 2 and Train.

Since then, he says, he has let both films go and started writing something new right away. He admitted the pain is real, but said he does not want to stay angry or stuck in one place. He also revealed that he recently narrated a story to Lokesh Kanagaraj, who liked it very much, and that he has 26 story ideas ready, one of them for Malayalam superstar Mammootty.

Both films have had a rough road. Pisasu 2, which reportedly stars Andrea Jeremiah and Vijay Sethupathi, was said to have been shot in 2020 with a 2022 release in mind. Reports say the Madras High Court put an interim stay on its release in 2024 over a lawsuit between two production houses. Train, reportedly also starring Sethupathi, is said to have started filming in 2023 and is still waiting for a release, even though a teaser came out in July this year.

On the acting side, Mysskin made his Malayalam debut with I'm Game, had a cameo in Love Insurance Kompany, and has Sathyavan Savithri lined up next.
