> Mrunal Thakur has asked critics to respect the choices of Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon and to remember their work, after both actors were trolled over their looks and clothes.

Mrunal Thakur has come out in support of Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon. She told critics to respect the choices the two actors make and to remember what both women have given to films.

Both stars faced harsh comments online recently. Last month, Katrina was targeted over her weight gain after the birth of her son, Vihaan. Before that, Kriti drew heavy criticism for the outfits she wore in a jewellery advertisement made around a festival.

Speaking to a news agency while promoting her new film, Mrunal said these women are free to live as they wish, and that everyone deserves to enjoy each stage of life. She asked why the people judging such iconic actors forget their body of work and what they have done for the industry and for business. Kriti and Katrina, she pointed out, run businesses that reach well beyond India, including the UK. She said nobody should pass comment on others, and called the trolls crazy.

The actor added that judgement has always followed women, though men do not escape it either.

Her film, Pooja Meri Jaan, is now streaming on ZEE5. In the crime thriller, Mrunal plays Pooja, a carefree young woman who turns down an unexpected proposal from Aniket, a friend of many years. He later takes his own life and leaves an email that holds her responsible. Navjot Gulati directed the film, and Dinesh Vijan produced it.
