# Mohan Babu calls The Paradise the deadliest role of his 50-year career

Veteran actor Mohan Babu has called his part in The Paradise the deadliest role of his 50-year career, and he used the same occasion to play down talk of friction during the shoot. The Nani starrer, directed by Srikanth Odela, is now running in theatres, and the cast and crew met the media in Hyderabad.

Mohan Babu recalled that Srikanth first narrated the story to him at his university. He admitted he does not usually keep in touch with younger filmmakers, but said the director explained the script in a clear and simple way. According to the actor, Srikanth kept giving him inputs throughout the shoot, and he ended up doing more retakes on this film than on any other in his career.

He was full of praise for the director. Saying Srikanth is no ordinary filmmaker, Mohan Babu revealed that he had spoken about him to Vishnu and to Srikanth's father, and predicted that Srikanth will become the number one director in Indian cinema. He also lauded producer Sudhakar, saying he never held back on the budget and placed complete trust in the director.

The comments follow a stretch of chatter about the production. Reports had pointed to creative differences between Nani and Srikanth, and the director later admitted at the success meet that the two had argued during the shoot, while stressing those talks were about making the film better. There were reportedly also disagreements between Srikanth and Mohan Babu. Without tackling it head on, Mohan Babu said clashes between actors, directors and technicians can happen on film sets, and that only the people who were there know the full picture.

He saved warm words for Nani, saying he admires and respects the star and that he worked extremely hard for The Paradise. Mohan Babu singled out the braid look as a very tough getup to pull off, called Nani a phenomenal performer, and said he expects the film to become a big success.
