The change comes a few days after the actor finished his portions for SS Rajamouli's Varanasi. For more than a year he kept long hair and a heavy beard for the film. He also followed a strict diet and look regimen and mostly avoided public appearances. Reports say this is the first time in about one and a half years that fans have seen him clean-shaven, though one account puts the gap closer to three years, going back to Guntur Kaaram.

The airport outing had a lighter side too. He was reportedly travelling with his wife for a vacation. In one viral clip, he seems to gesture at the media as if asking where his beard has gone.
