# Mahakali makers unveil Kushboo's first look on her birthday

The team behind Mahakali has released the first look of veteran actress Kushboo, timing the reveal with her birthday. The film is the next chapter in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, known as PVCU, and it has been one of the most eagerly awaited projects in that lineup.

The poster shows Kushboo in a traditional saree with fine embroidery, and her soft smile is the centrepiece of the look. The saree reportedly carries tribal artwork, and she is said to wear traditional jewellery that gives her appearance a distinctive, graceful feel. Reports also point to a single strand of hair falling across her face, adding to the calm but intriguing mood of the image.

Bhoomi Shetty leads the film in the role of Mahakali, while Akshaye Khanna plays Shukracharya. Sriya Reddy is also reported to appear as a goddess. Earlier promotional material for the film reportedly drew a strong response from fans, and Kushboo joining the cast is expected to add to the curiosity around the project.

RKD Studios is backing the mythological epic on a large scale. R. K. Duggal and Riwaz Ramesh Duggal are reportedly producing, with Prasanth Varma presenting the film as showrunner and Puja Kolluru said to be directing. The film is also reportedly being shot in IMAX format, with the aim of giving its mythological world a grand, immersive feel on the big screen.

Release plans are less settled. According to one report, Mahakali is slated to reach theatres on January 8, during the Sankranti season. Another report says the shoot has wrapped, post-production is moving at a fast pace, and the makers will announce the release date once all the work is complete.
