Yo Yo Honey Singh appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell in Mumbai on Friday. He was questioned for more than two hours over remarks he allegedly made during a concert.

The rapper, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, had missed three earlier summons in the case. He asked to come in on October 22 instead. Investigators turned that down and told him to appear the same day.

Before Friday, a senior Maharashtra Cyber official had warned that if the singer stayed away again, the process of issuing a Look Out Circular against him could begin. Singh reportedly said he had missed the earlier dates because he was abroad.

A complaint from a person who objected to what Honey Singh said on stage started the case. The cyber wing then summoned him for questioning, and his statement has now been recorded. The investigation is still going on.
