Actor Ishwar Thakur, loved by television audiences for his work in the comedy shows FIR and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, is in critical condition in an ICU at a hospital in Thane, Maharashtra. The 54-year-old has been unresponsive since his health took a sharp turn for the worse a few days ago, and his family has now made an appeal for financial support.

His younger sister has explained how the ordeal began. In 2020, about three months before the Covid-19 lockdown, Ishwar developed a wound. Because he is diabetic, it never healed properly, and over time the infection spread through his whole body. When his condition worsened this week, the family rushed him to hospital, where he has stayed unresponsive.

The early infection also left him with a fatty liver condition. He recovered from that, but his health troubles returned later. Reports also say he is dealing with serious kidney-related complications, and that his kidney disease has caused swelling in his legs and incontinence.

The family says it has already spent everything it had on his treatment and can no longer carry the cost alone. So far, the makers of FIR and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! helped as much as they could, and several of his co-stars stepped in too. Actor Kavita Kaushik also put out a public appeal for help. His sister said it was only because of this support that the family could afford his care until now.

According to reports, Ishwar has been facing severe health problems and money troubles since 2022, and the family has struggled to pay even for basic supplies like diapers. Reports add that industry colleagues and the Sonu Sood Foundation supported him during that earlier phase. Now, with his condition turning critical, the family is facing a fresh financial crisis.

Ishwar is unmarried and lives with his mother and his younger sister, who has been by his side and caring for him through this long illness.
