# Fauzi postponed: Prabhas film drops its December 3 release date

Prabhas fans have a longer wait ahead. Producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers confirmed at the pre-release event of Nani's The Paradise that Fauzi will not arrive on December 3, 2026 as planned. Talk of a delay had been doing the rounds in trade circles for days, and the makers have now settled the question themselves.

Speaking at the event, the producer said sorry to fans for the push back and promised the film would be worth it, calling Fauzi the grandest Prabhas has looked since Baahubali and a film audiences will cherish for life. Reports say the movie has moved into 2027, with one account pointing to February, but the team has not announced a new date.

The reason is size. Fauzi is being mounted on a huge scale and the post-production work is running longer than the makers expected. Hanu Raghavapudi is said to be running multiple units at once to close the film, and reports say the output so far has left the team confident.

Fauzi is a period story with heavy action, and reports describe Prabhas as an officer in a fictional tale set against a historical backdrop. Imanvi plays the female lead, reportedly her first film as an actor, while Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada and Mithun Chakraborty take key roles. Chaitra J. Achar is also reportedly part of the cast, with Vishal Chandrasekhar reportedly scoring the music.

The December window had other big Telugu titles lining up, which is reportedly what made the postponement chatter louder in the first place. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling the film and has given no sign yet of how long the new gap will be.

Prabhas was last seen in The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, which met a mixed response. Reports say his action thriller Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga is lined up for March 5, 2027, with Triptii Dimri as the female lead and Vivek Oberoi as the villain, and that Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 is already in production.
