> Producer Ekta Kapoor has confirmed a sequel to The Dirty Picture, the Vidya Balan film based on Silk Smitha's life, and expects to announce it officially by the end of this year.

Producer Ekta Kapoor has confirmed she is making The Dirty Picture 2, a sequel to the Vidya Balan film based on the life of Silk Smitha.

In a recent interview, Ekta called it one very big film on her slate. She said she is planning it 15 years after the first one because this time she has a story she wants to tell. She expects the official announcement before the end of this year.

Looking back at the original, she described it as the story of a woman who was condemned for standing up for her sexuality. Ekta said she never viewed Silk as a victim. To her, Silk was someone who celebrated her sexuality, and she said the film did very well.

Reports say the sequel will tell the story of a different actress, another controversial heroine from the past decade. The makers have not yet named the lead actress or the director.
