> Madhuri Dixit's husband, Dr Shriram Nene, told Farah Khan that he did not recognise Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan at their wedding reception. Amitabh Bachchan was the only star he knew, because he had seen Amar Akbar Anthony.

Dr Shriram Nene has admitted that he did not know who Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were when both stars came to the reception after his 1999 wedding to Madhuri Dixit.

He told the story when Farah Khan visited the couple at their Mumbai home. Nene said he spent the evening waving at guests like a prom king, and only later, looking through the wedding album, did he see how many famous faces he had missed. The one star he did know was Amitabh Bachchan, because he had watched Amar Akbar Anthony. Farah was surprised and asked about Shah Rukh and Salman. Nene said he had not known them either, but added that both actors had been very kind to him.

He did not know about his bride's fame either. Back then he lived in Los Angeles and did not speak Hindi. Nene said he grew up on Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Star Wars, not on her films. The two dated for three months and got along at once, and then he proposed.

Madhuri agreed with his version. She said he had been told only that she was a star who worked in the movies, and that was all he knew. When Farah asked whether she had found him handsome back then, the actor replied that he still is.

Nene also said the couple kept the wedding a secret until the ceremony at her brother's house in the US. Madhuri moved to America after the wedding, and the couple have two sons, Arin and Ryan.
