Devara Resembles A War Movie, While Our Sathyam Sundaram Is Similar To SVSC – Karthi.

Kollywood star Karthi’s highly anticipated family entertainer, Meiyalagan, is set to release in theaters on September 27. The film features Arvind Swami in a significant role and is directed by Prem Kumar, known for 96. Sri Divya, a Telugu actress, plays the female lead.

The Telugu version, titled Sathyam Sundaram, will debut on September 28. Karthi and the film's team arrived in Hyderabad yesterday for the pre-release event, where he shared some exciting insights with the Telugu media.

Karthi recounted an emotional moment: “My brother Suriya hugged me after watching my debut film, Paruthiveeran. After many years, he embraced me again after seeing Sathyam Sundaram. He was very proud of my performance. This film is heartwarming and offers feel-good entertainment—it's a complete family movie.”

Discussing his co-star, Arvind Swami, Karthi emphasized the importance of both their characters in Sathyam Sundaram. “Arvind grew up in a village, and the film reflects that experience. He was quite emotional after reading the script. We shared a brotherly bond in the film, and it’s hard to imagine Sathyam Sundaram without him,” he noted.

Karthi also mentioned that, like 96, the entire story unfolds in a single night. “Tears came to my eyes when I read the script. The film beautifully illustrates the unconditional love our families provide. It delves into our culture and roots, reminiscent of K. Viswanath's Sagara Sangamam and Oopiri. I portray a carefree villager,” he explained.

Regarding the release schedule, Karthi said, “Sathyam Sundaram’s Tamil version launches on September 27, while the Telugu version comes out on September 28 to avoid clashing with NTR’s Devara. Devara feels like a war movie, while Sathyam Sundaram is akin to Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu,” he joked.
