# Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 contestant Renu Sudhi in ICU after fifth round of chemotherapy

Renu Sudhi, the social media personality who took part in Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7, is in critical condition in the ICU at the Government Medical College in Kottayam. Her health worsened after five rounds of chemotherapy for stage 3 breast cancer.

The update came from content creator and anchor Sarika KB, who was also part of the Mohanlal hosted season and is a close friend. In a video posted on Instagram, Sarika said Renu's elder sister called her with the news. "Reality is often bitter, and I am here to tell you about a bitter reality," she began, before saying that her friend's condition is very, very bad and that her platelet count has dropped sharply.

Sarika explained how hard the earlier rounds had already been. After each session Renu would vomit even plain water, yet until the fourth round she would rest for about ten days and then get back up to make videos and reply to her followers. This time, ten days after the fifth session, she has not been able to get up at all.

According to Sarika, doctors have said Renu cannot withstand another round of chemotherapy and that the hospital cannot take that risk. She is unable to eat, and a PICC line has been inserted so she can be fed another way. Sarika ended her video by asking everyone to pray, adding that she believes Renu will come back.

Renu, whose real name is Reshma P Thankachen, is the wife of comedian and mimicry artiste Kollam Sudhi, who died in a road accident in June 2023. The couple have a son, Rithul, and Kollam Sudhi had another son, Rahul, from an earlier marriage.

She revealed the diagnosis publicly in June this year, saying she first noticed a lump in her breast at 15 and that it turned into cancer over the years. She spoke then about being widowed at 32 and diagnosed at 34, calling it destiny, and urged other women not to ignore a painless lump. Just days ago she had posted a video about going in for her fifth round, captioned "5th chemo before my last chemo".
