> The trailer of Baa Baa Black Sheep, a Telugu new age crime comedy directed by Guni Manchikanti and produced by Venu Donepudi, is out ahead of the film's October 9 theatrical release.

Baa Baa Black Sheep, a Telugu new age crime comedy, has unveiled its trailer, and the film is set to hit theatres on October 9. Guni Manchikanti directs the project, with Venu Donepudi producing under the Chitralayam Studios banner and Donepudi Chakrapani presenting. Reports say this marks Guni's debut as a director.

The story begins with one unexpected incident that pulls six people into a string of chaotic events. Guns, gold and a mysterious box reportedly sit at the heart of it, as a set of eccentric characters get tangled in crime and confusion over a single day. The ensemble includes Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oy, Karthikeya, Vismaya Sri, Malvi Malhotra, Kashyap and Raja Ravindra.

The trailer moves fast, stacking up quirky character introductions, gunfire and chase sequences. Meghalaya is a major visual draw, and the makers reportedly describe this as the first South Indian film shot entirely in the state, with Cherrapunji among its locations. The earlier teaser had introduced Akshay as a chef and Upendra Limaye as an intimidating figure called John Shelley Hitler.

At the trailer launch, National Award winner Upendra Limaye reportedly said the unique concept won him over and called this his first full Telugu role. Malvi Malhotra is said to play Rama, a character with grey shades, while Samriddhi Aryaal, who makes her Telugu debut, admitted that delivering Telugu dialogues was hard at first. Akshay reportedly thanked Nag Ashwin for launching the trailer.

Producer Venu Donepudi acknowledged that bigger films are releasing in the same window, but said the team believes a small film with strong content can still succeed. He also thanked Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma for backing the shoot, and reports say a contest is planned that will send winners to Meghalaya at no cost to them.

According to reports, Guni finished pre-production in three months and shot in Meghalaya for around 28 days. He described the film as a clean family entertainer where every character carries weight, rather than a routine hero, heroine and villain story.
