# Anupam Kher urges Govinda not to let personal life overshadow his career

Veteran actor Anupam Kher has spoken up for Govinda, calling him one of the finest actors he has ever worked with. He also gently urged him not to let his personal life and habits take over everything else. Kher said this in a chat with journalist Faridoon Shahryar, at a time when Govinda's marriage has become the main talking point around him.

Kher said he has done 10 to 12 films with Govinda, and that nobody can match him at improvisation, acting and dance. But he added that a person should not let personal matters or habits overshadow their whole life. He was quick to say that he is no one to judge Govinda, who knows his own life best and can deal with it.

Kher said he once called Govinda, and the actor promised to call him back. He said he wanted to tell him that "this too shall pass." In Kher's view, the problem is not that Govinda cannot market himself. He feels Govinda has been weighed down by his surroundings but has not given up, so there is still hope. He said he prays for a strong comeback. Looking back on his own 41 years in the industry, Kher said every career has good and bad phases, and audiences tend to remember the good ones.

Kher's comments come amid growing attention on Govinda's marriage to Sunita Ahuja and talk about his equation with co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Govinda was recently seen at Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja pandal with Komal, hours after Sunita had visited alone. Reports say neither Govinda nor Komal has confirmed a relationship. Govinda is reportedly returning to the big screen with Roopa, which he is also producing.

In the same chat, Kher spoke about Akshaye Khanna and said that staying away from the media may be Akshaye's own way of marketing himself. He recalled that on a flight before Dhurandhar released, Akshaye told him he had done very good work in the film. Akshaye will reportedly be seen next in the Telugu film Mahakali Asuraguru Shukracharya.
