> Netflix will stream Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya's romantic drama Epic: First Semester from October 9, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, less than a month after it opened in theatres.

Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya's romantic drama Epic: First Semester now has a streaming date. Netflix holds the film's digital rights and has announced that it will premiere on the platform on October 9, 2026. It will stream in five languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

The film reaches streaming less than a month after its theatrical release. Epic: First Semester opened in cinemas on September 11, 2026, but it did poorly at the box office and ended up a commercial disappointment. Reports say the weak run has also ended any chance of a sequel titled Epic: Final Semester.

The story is set in London and follows student life away from home. Anand's character moves there for higher studies and falls for the character played by Vaishnavi. According to reports, the film also deals with relationships, identity and family expectations, along with the emotional strain of living far from home.

Aditya Hasan directed the film, which reportedly marks his first feature as a director. Naga Vamsi produced it, with Sai Soujanya as co-producer. Hesham Abdul Wahab composed the music, while the crew reportedly includes cinematographer Azeem Mohammad and editor Navin Nooli.

Sivaji, Vasuki, Srinivas Gavireddy and Kalyan Shankar play key supporting roles. Netflix has reportedly asked viewers to search for 'Southverse' on the service to find Epic along with other South Indian films and shows. The streaming premiere gives the film a second chance to find an audience after its quiet run in theatres.
