The actor told this story on Rendezvous With Simi Garewal. Many people thought the bald look was for an upcoming project, he said, but the truth was "some other reason altogether."

"I lost a girl I loved," Aamir told the host. He shaved his head as a reaction, and he now calls that childish and immature. The timing was bad, too. When Ketan called him in for a meeting, the first thing he asked was "where's your hair."

Simi called him a "very intense lover." Aamir did not argue. "Yeah, I guess so. Sounds like it," he replied.

He spoke kindly about the woman who ended it. They had been together for a good while, he said, and if she did not feel that she loved or valued him, he fully respected that. He still respects her decision today.

Reena Dutta was his first wife, and the couple have two children, son Junaid and daughter Ira Khan. They separated in 2002. He married Kiran Rao in 2005. They have a son, Azad Rao Khan, and they divorced in 2021.

On July 5 this year, the Sitare Zameen Par star married Gauri Spratt, his third wife.
