## Storyline
Manikarnika or Mannu (Kangana Ranaut) is born in British ruling India and is the dotted daughter of Moropant (Manish Wadhwa). She is gentle, serene and also very fierce when it comes to fighting for her rights. She learns the lessons of life from Bajirao in her place, Bithoor. When Jhansi's minister, Dixit-Ji, notices Mannu killing a wild cat, he instantly gets impressed with her valor. He suggests a marriage alliance between Manikarnika and the King of Jhansi, Gangadhar Rao (Jisshu Sengupta). She steps up as the Queen of Jhansi and gets renamed as Rani Lakshmi Bai. But not everyone is happy with Mannu's arrival. Sadashiv Rao (Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub Khan), Mannu's brother-in-law has his eye on the throne. He conspires with the British and poisons Manikarnika's young son and her husband. After her son's death, she adopts a kid from the village and her husband slowly succumbs to death. The British then decided to bring in the Doctrine of Lapse for Jhansi and seize the power from the Queen. However, Lakshmi Bai promised her husband that she'll keep his people safe and happy. She gathers other women like Jhalkar Bai (Ankita Lokhande) to fight against the Britishers. Being a widow, she never hesitated to take the lead and speak for the right. So, the fight ensures between the bravest Woman freedom fighter of Indian history and the British officials. Who will win - Justice or Oppression?&nbsp;
