Ghanta Naveen Babu is a prominent South Indian Superstar, an actor, Film Producer, Assistant Director, Television Presenter & Radio Jockey, well known to the audience as Natural Star Nani. He was born to Rambabu Ghanta and Vijayalakshmi Ghanta. He has a sister named Deepthi Ghanta. His father was a Central Government employee. He ventured into Tollywood with no roots and support in the Tollywood Film industry. 

He was born on 24 February 1984, in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He completed his graduation from Wesley College, Hyderabad.  

He is a distant relative to producer Anil, who gave him the chance to be the clap director for the movie Radha Gopalam, directed by the great Bapu. He worked as an Assistant Director for a couple of other films as well. He worked as a Radio Jockey, hosting the show Non-Stop Nani, for World Space Satellite. It was director Mohan Krishna Indraganti, who noticed his talent and offered him a role in the film Ashta Chamma (2008), and the movie was very well received by the audience. The movie also earned him an award in the Best Hero category at the 2013 Toronto After Dark Film Festival. His first release in 2011, Ala Modalaindi, a romantic comedy written and directed by Nandini Reddy established him as an actor. The turning point in his career came with Gautham Menon's Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu(2012), he produced one of his career-best performances in the movie. He got the opportunity to work with S.S.Rajamouli, for the film Eega, which won him great reviews.  

During his career, he won 2 Nandi awards. He also won a couple of other awards like the SIIMA, IIFA, etc. He produces movies under the banner of Wall Poster Cinema.  

Nani always stays away from controversies, except for one or two instances. He drew the audience flak as part of his Hosting for BiggBoss Season 2, Telugu, where he was accused of being biased to some contestants. Actress Sri Reddy also framed Nani for being part of the casting couch discrepancy.  

He is married to Anjana Yelavarthy, a software engineer, in 2012, and the couple has a son named Arjun Ghanta.
