## Biography
Vaibhavi Merchant is an Indian film choreographer. She is a famous choreographer in Bollywood industry. Her formal training in dance started at the age of 5 under the tutelage of the Late Sushree Madhurita Sarang. She has spent many years shuffling between Chennai and Mumbai, learning Bharatnatyam from Shri Rohinton Cama, Western Classical from "Martha Da Cunha". The choreographer can speak different languages, all with equal flair and fluency in Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu and Punjabi to Spanish.&nbsp;She shot to fame for choreographing the dance "Dhol Baaje" in the film "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" for which she has won her first National Award. She took a short break from the industry and then returned with a bang in the form of the song "O Ri Chhori" from the Oscar-nominated Lagaan in 2001. She also choreographed the Australian musical The Merchants of Bollywood, a musical written by Toby Gough about her family.
